Love vs. Fear

Let us examine society from several perspectives. I would start with two main categories of people: believers in God and atheists.
Believers may exhibit two distinct traits: those who live with the fear of God and those who live every day with God’s love.
In many religions, we have been taught that we need to fear God because our wrong actions can doom us for eternity. As a result, we may think twice about our actions. Even if we are inclined to do some nasty things like stealing, cheating, or even killing, we may think of how God is going to throw us into hell for the rest of eternity. And then we stop. We come back into His grace, and we are happy with it. We dream of Heaven, and that gives us peace of mind.
On the other hand, people who live with the love of God may not think twice about what they need to do. When love is part of the equation, none of the above blocked by fear can even be born. We would not steal from someone we love; we would not cheat or kill someone we love. We would not even think about it, so the thought does not even occur in our heads. After all, it is Jesus’s teaching when he says, “Love your neighbor.” That statement is profound if we want to grasp it and apply it in our lives.
Now, let us move to the second category of people we have mentioned in the beginning: the atheists.
What would we stop as nonbelievers to do all the wrongs in the world that do benefit ourselves? It is simple: the fear of the man’s written law.
If we kill, we can go to jail for life. If we cheat, we may be excluded from society, and so on.
The first difference between us as atheists and people who live with the fear of God is that the second category believes in a higher rule of law. As per the fact that we believe that God can throw us into hell for eternity, the same is true for atheists. We can be imprisoned for eternity, which, in our concept of non-believing in the afterlife, is our lifetime here on Earth. That is the eternity for a nonbeliever, right?
But now, can you see the problem with the fear concept?
The problem is that we can find loopholes in it. What if we change the concept of evil versus good? What if good is fair enough, but evil is not bad? What if cheating is the engine of society? What if stealing is right in some cases, which can become all the cases? What if killing is, well, something natural that happens in nature, and the strong will survive? The list can continue, and the convincing could be solid and consistent through media channels.
Then, we are not afraid of any punishment. In the future or even now, we promote those things in churches all over the globe, and then the fear of God will also be removed.
It is so easy to do it, and the proof is right here, right now, on our beloved Earth.
Our so-called leaders have become the servants of darkness, promoting those horrible ideas. However, they want to maintain a different kind of fear for us so we can be controlled. But those leaders are still afraid. They live in fear of the masses discovering the truth: love is what we all need. When that happens globally, people’s souls can see the light.
When love is all we have and preach, there will be no more wars, hunger, or suffering, and Heaven will return to Earth.
